About Carol Nelson:
I paint in a variety of styles, as the mood moves me. My favored mediums are oil and acrylic. My favorite subjects are animals, landscapes and flowers. Most of my work is what could be called "contemporary realism," meaning realistic, but in my personal style.

On occasion, I'll go on a wild fling and do abstract work. Abstract frees the soul. It's like going on a journey with no map and no destination. That is both a blessing and a curse for the artist. I never know what a painting will end up looking like. I have no references to guide me. It's totally creative and that's why I love it.
