About Felicia Marshall:

I am a painter who lives in Houston. I earned my degree from Pratt Institute and have worked as both a Freelance Children’s Book Illustrator and an Art Teacher for the last thirteen years.

I prefer to use acrylics when I paint. I find the medium’s ability to dry quickly an asset specially when I layer colors. After having children, I couldn’t help but stay with the medium because of the easy clean up and not needing to use any solvents.

Images I typically paint are those of children interacting with the world around them, or images dealing with family. I am also attracted to people in candid moments. I enjoy capturing someone who has somehow found their own personal space in the midst of a crowd.
