About Connie Tom:
Painting is like fire in the spirit to me. I paint in oils. I love the country and nature in the wild. Autumn is my favorite season. I live in the midwest. I relate so closely to the Hudson River School artists who lived in the 1800's, so they have been a big influence on my life. I have done many intense studies on their work. As with them, color, light, mood and atmosphere are main elements to achieve in my paintings. I strive for luminosity in my paintings. However, I attribute that it is the time first thing each morning that I spend reading the Bible that guides my spirit and my brush when I paint. I hope you enjoy the paintings!
