About Ria Hills:

I am a self-taught painter. I was born in The Netherlands, raised in New York and presently live in rural Massachusetts.

I have 35 years of professional experience in graphic design and as a fine artist.

I work in a variety of mediums. My medium of choice for the past few years has been pastel. My subjects vary as much as my subject preferences do. For me, subject is not as important as the process of trying to translate blocks of color and light into something discernible.

My paintings and conceptual photographs have been displayed in art shows and galleries in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New York.
