About Diane Whitehead:
An avid outdoors woman and self-taught artist, Diane paints what she loves best: wild animals, Montana Mountains, and farm animals. She is praised for her bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors which make her work come alive. Born in Spokane, Washington, and the second of 8 children, art education was not affordable or practical for Diane. She earned a degree in Business, while dabbling in oils. Originally determined to study to be a veterinarian, Diane feels she has combined her love of animals and oil paint to make the perfect marriage of creativity.
Diane began painting at the age of twelve when an uncle, who lost his eyesight, gave her his box of oil paints. It was at this time that Diane spent her spare time painting in the house she shared with seven siblings. The solitude of pushing oil paint around on canvas became her most favorite quiet time. She soon began to sell her artwork and has seen tremendous, world-wide success since then.
Diane’s work has been selected by jury for the Utah State Arts Competition at the Kimball Art Center and has recently been featured in the AOL/Time-Warner Sundance Anderson 100th Anniversary Home.
She has sold over 2500 pieces of art in the last six years, and is a full-time artist working from her studio in Park City, Utah. She is currently represented by The Redstone Gallery in Park City,
Datura Gallery in St George Utah.
