sketch for "By The Book" working out some details.
painting by artist Kim Roberti
"Okay, this was the other gallery show I went to; I'm on the carema 42 minutes in (for a second- woman w/the bright red hair, staring at nothing). Once again, Lola was totally WASTED. I mean, the girl cannot hold her booze. She cried, took my friend hostage again to talk about how haaaaaaard it all was. Horrible, horrible person.Kymia's portait was pretty gorgeous, and I had a nice chat w/her about it Best of all, I met Bob and Barbara! Kymia really nailed it.Sara's potrait was very moving; something about the scorched & hammered metal was really riveting (no pun intended). The firemen who were there from Cold Springs were really touched and loved it.The girl that Dusty made the portrait of was hysterical- she ran all over the gallery, rolled on the floor, tried to eat the candy that was falling off the portait, and babbled non-stop. Young's piece was so crappy looking. I can't believe the judges liked it. I remember thinking, Well, this person is out . All those photos glued to foam core reminded me of projects people did in art school (yes, I went to art school).Lola's whole I wrote a letter to them! thing was bullshit; still can't believe how trashed she was. I wonder if they shoot the crit right after the gallery show? It would explain how horribly obnoxious she was."
