From: Studies & Stories of Daily Painting
"On Their Way" (3x3")-090981 Where have I been? Many places in my mind lately. Mostly struggling with finding a workable balance between what I must do, what I'd like to do and how I'm going to do it. I've been painting, but have started to feel that the work I post needs to show quality evolution over time. It's possible for me to work at a daily pace, but I feel more selective about what I share these days. I have been practicing the art of approximating the color of light more accurately. It is not easy to do well! The Leningrad School of Art is definitely worth checking out. It will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. So I'm still with the red building streak - playing with creating the right value, hue & saturation of adjacent objects. As for the story of this painting, it too is from the farmlands of VT. A happy memory now. The days were mostly rainy, but here was a sliver of sunshine on this portion of land. You can see the dark sky with a solid mass of rain clouds moving in.
